Ashford Tettey Oku, the chairman of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) board, has warned against fraudsters using a fake Facebook account in his name.

The former Hearts of Oak board member says he has never owned a Facebook account and is currently not holding one.

A Facebook account under the name Ashford Tettey has already amassed over 300 friends, including Ghanaian journalists.

There is no indication that the account has been used for any fraudulent activities at this stage, but given that it is no way operated by the GPL board chairman this is a worrying matter for Ghanaian football authorities.

“Sorry my brother. I am not on Facebook and have not been on it before,” Tettey Oku is quoted by Ghanasoccernet.
