Egyptian star Mohamed Salah has revealed that he grew up supporting Liverpool and has always harboured the ambition to play for the club.

The Pharaohs attacker has been a huge at Anfield since his big-money move from Roma at the start of the season

The 25-year-old has scored 28 goals across all competitions, and has become the fastest Liverpool player to score 20 times in the Premier League.

Salah told FourFourTwo that he is living his boyhood dream: “I have loved the club since I was young and knew this was a team I wanted to play for.

“I knew the history this club has and, as soon as I got the chance, I had to make it happen.”

Salah’s previous unsuccessful spell with Chelsea led many critics to doubt his ability to perform in the Premier League, but he insists he was confident of impressing for the Reds.

“Come on, I know I’m good!” he exclaimed. “I was comfortable at Roma, I had two great seasons there and I was very happy, but I’ve always been the sort of guy who takes a chance, to put myself under pressure.”
