Morocco national team coach Herve Renard has convinced Napoli midfielder Zinedine Machach to play for his side instead of Algeria.
Machach has since pledged his international future to the Atlas Lions and ditched the Desert Foxes of Algeria ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Machach joined the Italian Serie A side from French League One club FC Toulouse on a free transfer in the January window and is regarded as one of the best young attacking talents in Europe.
According to Arryadia television, the 22-year-old met with Royal Moroccan Football Association’s officials and pledged his allegiance.
“Convinced by Herve Renard, Zinedine Machach will wear the Moroccan colours. Born to a Moroccan father and an Algerian mother, Machach has been playing for Napoli since January 2018 for a four and a half year contract,” the Morocco-based TV tweeted.
The youngster scored three goals in 38 Ligue One games and made remarkable contribution in the team providing several assistance.
