Bordeaux starlet Malcom is the next big thing to come out of Ligue 1. Check out his best goals and assists from the 2017-18 season.
In-demand winger Malcom isn’t sure whether he’ll leave Bordeaux, but admits it would be a dream to play in the Premier League.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur target Malcom has told Telefoot he wanted to leave Bordeaux in January but the Ligue 1 club had “needed” him.

Malcom, 20, was strongly linked with the two North London clubs during the winter window, but ended up staying in France after talks with Bordeaux president Stephane Martin.

“I wanted to leave, to tell you the truth,” Malcom, who has been at Bordeaux since January 2016, said. “It’s my dream to progress in my career.

“I spoke with the president, and he told me that he knew it was my dream but that he needed me. I told him he could count on me until the end [of the season].

“I will do everything to bring Bordeaux to the top six in Ligue 1.”

After five goals in his first nine league games of the campaign, Malcom’s form, and that of his teammates, suffered a decline.

A run of eight matches with only one win cost coach Jocelyn Gourvennec his job, but replacement Gus Poyet, has overseen two wins in as many games.

Malcom, who scored his first goal of 2018 in the recent win over Lyon, said: “I know I can do better.

“I will try to do everything because I like Bordeaux. I will give everything until the end to show that I stayed to help and do better.”
