Aubameyang to torment Tottenham, Sterling can recover from horror miss
We nailed Tottenham to win to nil in the FA Cup against Newport but a much-changed Millwall side scuppered our ‘Tasty Treble’ with a shock 1-0 loss at Rochdale. The Premier League returns this weekend and what a game to kick things off as Arsenal go to Tottenham.
Running total: -£19.20
The Home Banker
Spurs are a shade of odds on to win Saturday’s north London derby and having won eight of their last 10 Premier League home games (drawing the other two) it’s easy to see why. Hope springs eternal for Arsenal, however, and their fans will be buoyed by the fact Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored four goals in four previous meetings against Tottenham. The Gabon striker looked sharp on debut against Everton and we feel he is worth a play here at 20/21 to score anytime at Wembley.
The Tasty Treble
Manchester United have been a bit safety first in recent weeks but should be trusted at 8/13 to get the job done on the road against a very underwhelming Newcastle side. On Saturday the draw could be worth backing at 9/4 when Everton face Crystal Palace. The Toffees were a shambles against Arsenal and professional pride dictates they’ll surely have to be more switched on this weekend, while Palace have only lost two of their last 15 Premier League games. Finally, Liverpool (4/5) look good things to beat a Southampton side who have won just three of 14 home games. The treble pays almost 17/2 with bet365 and looks to have a real chance.
The Euro Wager
Juventus are absolutely flying again and involved in an enthralling title race with Napoli that looks like going to the wire. On Friday evening they go to Fiorentina for a game that could produce goals. The Viola have scored in five of their last six meetings with the Old Lady so Juventus to win and both teams to score looks a spot of value here surely at 100/30.
The Wildcard Tip
Chelsea were a shambles against Watford and there is a feeling that Antonio Conte has lost the dressing room in the same way Jose Mourinho did before he was shown the door at Stamford Bridge. West Brom are a 7/1 chance to consign Chelsea to a third straight defeat on Monday evening and anyone who has watched Chelsea of late will concur that’s a huge price under the circumstances.
The Bookie Basher
Raheem Sterling came in for some merciless stick on social media for that extraordinary miss against Burnley last weekend but he’s a 13/2 poke to score first against Leicester and that’s a big price for a player who has bagged 19 times for Pep Guardiola’s men this season. Christian Benteke has not been quite as prolific, scoring just twice for Palace, but he’s got a fantastic record against Everton and backing the Belgian (13/2) in a first goalscorer double with Sterling pays over 40/1 with bet365.
